Accurate and brutally honest take. They’ve got a lot of work to do on this roster.

Coworkers patting each other on the back: how cute. Now you can dive headfirst into the pool of misery and dwell on your existence.

John, this dude is unhinged and just sour that he didn’t get to dunk on me with the Sox winning. Sad part is I wanted so badly for him to be able to dunk on me, I was ready to get the ladder to help him up, but sometimes you just hate being right and I was right… 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree with this. Good take!

I expected this team to be bad because I’ve been hopelessly optimistic at the start of each season for over a decade and I decided this was the year they had to prove it to me that they deserved my optimism.

But I hoped beyond hope they’d prove me wrong. And probably the most disturbing thing is that they’re still in rebuild mode because what they have isn’t built into a finished product. This team isn’t a couple pieces away.

After each season, every team has to make some moves. You can never put the same team on the field year after year. So the Sox do have that portion to contend with. But regardless of 3-5 yearly refresh moves at minimum, this team is probably 5 medium to large moves away from feeling like they’re legit contenders. That’s not a rebuild at its end stages. That’s major rebuild work to finish.

Here’s to hoping they figure it out and they’re serious about what they (the organization) says about wanting to contend. Maybe John Henry will accidentally swallow a cigar while and… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, it’s funny. I would’ve thought that a missing the playoffs season would have completely disengaged me from next year‘s team more than anything. However, in typical Red Sox fashion, they found the only way to get me more disengaged than that scenario I just outlined. Losing to the Yankees and losing the only thing that we’ve had to hold onto during this miserable decade which has included only one playoff appearance post the 2018 World Series, has me in a place where unless this team does a complete 180 in the front office with its philosophy and spending… I don’t think I could care less moving forward with this pathetic franchise.
