DECEMBER 16, 2010: Theo Epstein signs free agent LHP Andrew Miller, after he was non-tendered by the Florida Marlins.
JULY 31, 2014: Ben Cherington sends Andrew Miller to the Baltimore Orioles for LHP Eduardo Rodriguez.
NOVEMBER 14, 2021: Representatives for Eduardo Rodriguez notify the Red Sox that the $18.4M qualifying offer has been declined.
NOVEMBER 16, 2021: Eduardo Rodriguez signs a five year $77M contract with the Detroit Tigers. Deal contains an opt out following the second year.
JULY 17, 2022: The Boston Red Sox, using their compensation pick from the Detroit Tigers, draft LHH OF Roman Anthony in the second round, 79th overall.
AUGUST 7, 2025: Roman Anthony agrees to an eight year extension worth $130M with escalators potentially increasing the deal to $230M. Red Sox have a team option for a ninth year in 2034.
