Honestly, you could pick the lineup order out of a hat, and it wouldn't matter much unless you either get new players or some of these guys start living up to expectations and/o past performance, which, as we know, is no guarantee of future results.

I do think there is a new hitting coach they could hire - but that is a tease for Sunday's edition of The Boston Sunday Sports Section.

Love the alternative suggestions for how to spend your summer. Too funny.

The Mayer/IKF thing reminds me of 2007, when a 31-year old utility man (Alwx Cora), was similarly getting starts ahead of a 23-year old hotshot rookie, Dustin Pedroia. The difference was that Cora started the season very hot, while Pedroia was very cold. Of course that team turned out okay.

Naturally, the Kanc is best during leaf peeping season, but yes … what a delightful way to spend a summer afternoon … probably not listening to the game.

Haven’t been up that way since the Old Man died. I think I’d be sad.

One night after work about five years after it came down we were taking our then very little people out and about exploring our proverbial back yard. They were something like 7, 4, and 2 … and we pulled into the viewing site and the park had some signage across the street … and I started to explain how the rock formation was way up there and it’s name, and how it fell and … my daughter (the four year old) was aghast. “The old man fell off the mountain?!!” Ummm … let me try and explain this again …
